Fuels Reduction There is still grant money available for those looking to reduce fuels around their homes. Please contact Rich Cowger at the Columbus Fire Department 406-322-4302.
The BLM will be continuing fuels reductions in the ranch again this year.
Telephone and Internet Service The front of the ranch has been wired for fiber optic telephone and internet. The remaining areas of the ranch may be wired in the future but they need to secure enough contracts on those areas to start. Internet access up to 3mb is available at this time. To sign up for service call Triangle Telephone at: 406- 394-7807 or
1-800-332-1201.
Verizon has a new cell tower directly north of the river by the Fatchett's and Skelton's. This has helped improve service in many parts of the ranch.
New homes
The Chadoir's are nearing completion on their log home on Winding River Road.
The Feldt's have started building on lot 180, off of East Granite Peak.
Welcome new neighbors!
Hunting or Poaching?
We have received a number of complaints about people hunting in areas that they do not have permission. This is not hunting but poaching and illegal. Montana Law requires permission to hunt on other people's property legally. The roads all pass through private property so there are no rights to hunt along roadways unless you have permission of those owners. All members have rights to use the roads for ingress and egress but not for hunting. property that is not posted still requires permission.
River Park/Boat Launch
The Park was underwater for most of May, June and July. The picinic tables and BBQ's were removed prior to the flooding and will be replaced as soon as the area dries up. The bugs are pretty thick this year so make sure you have plenty of bug spray!
